The botanical garden Ravino in Forio is the kingdom of succulent plants. It spans for about 6000 square meters, and it contains one of the biggest collections of cactaceae, succulent, and bonsai plants of the island of Ischia.
Also, the beauty of this garden kissed by the sun is its variety. Small paths reach corners where fruit trees grow next to roses, aromatic plants, and officinal herbs. There are also some very rare plants, like the "Wollemi Pine", the botanical discovery of the century. Furthermore, the garden is filled with a small army of very likeable animals: Peacocks, ponies, goats, and many cats run around undisturbed among splendid rare and tropical plants. Also, the area dedicated to pause and relax is very beautiful: A bar, built according to a Mediterranean architecture, which offers thirst-quenching drinks with aloe and cactus. And also the evening program is vivacious: Classical and jazz music concerts, performances, readings, and cabaret, all under the starry sky and surrounded by the scent of the plants.
